Plait Dress

Take a look at the newest pattern I tested for Kristi from  George and Ginger ! It’s a take on a wrap dress, without being a wrap dress lol! It has this gorgeous braided detail around the neck.   The back is pretty plain looking, but isn’t it stunning in this fabric combination?  The top pictures are with a cami for modesty purposes, the pattern does not have a modesty panel option built in but here is what the dress looks like without the camisole.  You can find more on my social medias like my  Instagram ,  Facebook page ,  Pinterest  and my  Facebook group- FD CLOTHING AND SALES !  And for all my sewing friends, you can purchase the pattern  here

Verve Vest

I had the pleasure of testing a vest pattern a couple months ago, however I may have forgotten to write a blog post. Oops! So here is the Verve Vest!  This is one of my favorite pictures from the little photoshoot we did for the vest pattern.  I did a cropped, V-neck, with normal armcycles. There is an option in the pattern for pockets, full length, turtlenecks and a deep armcycle.  I saw a couple people call this is “tik- tok” styling for vests, I’m not on tik- tok however I do know that it’s a very popular style right now. I, of course, had to add a faux leather skirt and my high top Vans- to make it a bit more me haha.  If you want to buy the pattern, it’s called the Verve Vest from  George and Ginger . There’s so many options and I have a couple more I definitely wanna do!  If you wanna see more from me, you can follow me on Instagram ,  Facebook , and  Pinterest ! And if you weren’t aware, I’m selling all my inventory in my group-...

Sewing, makeup, & feeling FANCY

This was the last pattern test I did before my braces came off! So a bit of a special spot I guess as well its so fancy feeling.  This is some sewing themed fabric I had mixed with a solid black, for an extra formal feel to me. I am totally gonna hang out in it sewing or whatever but I will will feel fabulous doing it! Reminds me of a post I have seen shared from a singer sewing machine manual from the 50's where you are supposed to clean the house, get dressed up and put on make up before sewing, because you can possibly focus otherwise... how the times have changed right?! I do like to dress up and do my makeup most days though simply because its fun, but my sewing space is not as organized as some would like it to be (mom). However its organized chaos, I mostly know where everything is at all times.  Anyway this top is the new MAZE from  George + Ginger . It comes with several options, I choose the 3/4 sleeve hi low with horse hair braid to give it that extra volume....

Alyssa meets Steampunk, and falls in love...

Hello again everyone! Today I am going to be showing you the Boudoir Blouse, and the Paradox skirt from the Goth Collection over at  George + Ginger . These are woven patterns so measurements are critical when making them for your self of if you want to order them from me 🙂 These are very well fitted and tailored garments and they are so worth the extra time and expense.  I made this blouse with Crush Bichon Charmeuse, it has a great texture look to it. It was a super fun fabric to work with. The sleeves are a chiffon with a glitter design on it. I thought it would look great with the Brocade I picked out for my skirt.  I used snaps on mine but you could do some really cool vintage looking buttons, or gears for a more steampunk flare to it. The amazing this about this collection is how your fabric and accessory choices can really change the look so easily. I love that!  I was for sure feeling a little more steampunk when deciding my fabrics, colors, accessories and ...

You Jump, I jump Jack - Rory Gilmore

What a peculiar year this has been! I had so many plans that have had to be adapted and changed a bit. Unfortunately when deciding on what needed to have a pin put in it the blog was on that list. However I have found my groove and have many exciting things to share with you both personally, business wise, and a new pattern collection!  Kristi from  George & Ginger  designed the most epic Goth collection that has just released! Over the next few days I will show you all the pieces, even some with my mom.  Above you will see the Bedight Bolero, this can be made reversible, this one is not, it is satin. There is also a non ruffle version that has long sleeves and a closure at the neck, I still need to make one of those.  This is the Evanescent dress, the petticoat I am wearing under is not part of the pattern I just liked the poof it added. I feel like both of these pieces can easily be staples its all in fabric choice, I went a bit more Goth with these, I hav...

What is more 90's than Malibu?

One of the first shoots we did for this round was with this dress at a local park. It was the first time I had all the make up on, and my mom said she didn't recognize me! The park was surprisingly busy, of course lol so many looks Our local park still has a working payphone, I have to admit I didn't exactly know how it worked, while I love the 90's era of music and movies, I did not grow up with the phones and electronics.  This is the Malibu from George + Ginger , part of the new collection there. It is a pretty comfortable dress, this is the mini length there is a slightly longer one too and a few people made it into a tank, that is on my list. The cut of this dress, while fairly basic is really fun and easy to dress up or down a bit. I paired it with the updated rave in white for these.  Of course I made these two out of crushed velvet and plaid because I was going for the 90's vibe. This entire collection has become stables in my wardrobe....

The time is finally here! The launch of a new collection!

I have mentioned more than a few times, everywhere about the new collection I have been testing the last few weeks, well it officially launched today so be ready for an Alyssa overload!  I was born in 2005, however, my parents are 80's babies making them teens in the 90's and I have been lucky enough to have them share all the music and movies from that era with me. Which makes this collection even more amazing, because I can feel it in my teen angst moodiness deeply lol.  I can not even say first here is one pattern, they all just go together so well and make the most amazing outfits. So hang on and come along on this grunge ride with me, some behind the scenes looks as well as the final project over the next week or so because there are so many pieces!   Between all the pattern testing, make up lessons, and photoshoots, I was still managing a full high school work load, another benefit of homeschooling! Being in Hawaii we are battling the sun f...
