What is more 90's than Malibu?

One of the first shoots we did for this round was with this dress at a local park. It was the first time I had all the make up on, and my mom said she didn't recognize me! The park was surprisingly busy, of course lol so many looks

Our local park still has a working payphone, I have to admit I didn't exactly know how it worked, while I love the 90's era of music and movies, I did not grow up with the phones and electronics.

This is the Malibu from George + Ginger, part of the new collection there. It is a pretty comfortable dress, this is the mini length there is a slightly longer one too and a few people made it into a tank, that is on my list. The cut of this dress, while fairly basic is really fun and easy to dress up or down a bit. I paired it with the updated rave in white for these.

Of course I made these two out of crushed velvet and plaid because I was going for the 90's vibe. This entire collection has become stables in my wardrobe.  I tied the paranoid around my waist to finish off the look, but wanted to wear it a bit as well, to show how comfortable and well fitted it is.

Being a Military Child

Not everyone understands what being a Military kid is like. It is amazing and sad at the same time. I have lived in several states, been on more flights than I can count and gotten to see places people dream of vacationing. I have also had to say good bye to so many people, the adventure never ends.

All of this is why the round that Mandi over at Fabriculous made a reality is so important to me. I came to her with an idea for a small off shoot, a panel and something to go with it and she made it into a 3 color way, 2 panel option, blanket topper, mind blowing round! It is something featured on her business page, something I am seeing people rallying around and finding as beautiful as I do. Its truly a humbling and incredible feeling.

Not everyone understood the main color choices, which were requested by me, and she did add another color way for those not feeling the purple but I wanted to take a quick moment and explain why purple. Purple wasn't chosen lightly and if you know …

Let me tell you a Fabriculous story...

Travel with me back to December 2018, I shared a scarf I made into Fabriculous custom fabrics, I thought it was really cool and wanted to show it off. Out of no where the owner Mandi commented on it and asked if I had a store, and then shared it to her business page and placed an order! Now this might not have been my first order ever, but I mean she could sew this herself! I shared how exciting that was all over to family and friends 🤣

Flash forward a month, I was getting ready for a little family vacation to a resort here on the island, making a bunch of things to take on the trip, cause thats the way I roll. I get a message from Mandi, offering me some strikes if I was interested, and of course I was!

I got them the day I was leaving for a few and made some pegs right away cause I was so excited, not only strikes and so many of them, but sewing themed! Talk about a dream offer.

I wanted to wow Mandi, because this was a HUGE opportunity to me, a well established group, full of …

Kaylee is going to all the amazing places with the Cat in the Hat!

The So Sweet Sweater by candy castle with out the sleeves added on is one of my favorite tops for my sister.

Its not exactly short sleeves, but its its perfect for Hawaii winter when its not really cold cold, but breezy.

She loves the cowl, hiding part of her face, more than hoods even I think.

The fabric from Fabriculous was perfect for it. I love that even though this is a coordinate it can really stand alone as the focal point as well, I think this pattern demonstrates that really well, with out being a basic boring tee. Kaylee is anything but basic and boring!
