Dean is Fabriculous too!

I share a lot of pictures of things I have made my sister or myself, I don't get to make things for my brother nearly as much. Which is another reason why I love  Fabriculous . Mandi always runs huge rounds, with lots of colors and options. Dean gets so excited when fabric comes from them, because he knows I am going to make him something.  These autobot were from the first round I did on the seam team, I was so excited to get to choose fabrics, bases, quantity I needed.  Let me tell you a little secret, we have never seen how to train your dragon, really. We have watched some of the show and parts of the movies but never really sat down and watched all of it. However he is all about dragons and Dinos so he was super excited about this one.  I love making him matching sets! He gets so excited over them, and every day he wears them he comes running out to show me that he's wearing a whole outfit I made him!  He is so goof...

Let me tell you a Fabriculous story...

Travel with me back to December 2018, I shared a scarf I made into  Fabriculous  custom fabrics, I thought it was really cool and wanted to show it off. Out of no where the owner Mandi commented on it and asked if I had a store, and then shared it to her business page and placed an order! Now this might not have been my first order ever, but I mean she could sew this herself! I shared how exciting that was all over to family and friends 🤣 Flash forward a month, I was getting ready for a little family vacation to a resort here on the island, making a bunch of things to take on the trip, cause thats the way I roll. I get a message from Mandi, offering me some strikes if I was interested, and of course I was!  I got them the day I was leaving for a few and made some pegs right away cause I was so excited, not only strikes and so many of them, but sewing themed! Talk about a dream offer.   I wanted to wow Mandi, because this was a HUGE op...

Preppy Book Club Sweater is here!

The new book club sweater was just released from  Ellie & Mac , I love the personality this shirt has.  I am a big Spiderman fan, I loved that this shirt gave me the ability to have a more subtle nod to one of my favorite fandoms. I have had this spider fabric in my stash for a while now. I got a great deal on it during a clearance event over at  Hushabye Fabric .   So many possibilities for combinations with this one, I am thinking ice blue and snowflakes for winter, or cabe knit looking sweater knit, pastels or florals for spring. What combinations would like you to see?

Dean and his Fab Unicorn eating Dino!

When I saw this design from Fabriculous  I knew I had to get it for my brother! He loves it so much, and the fact that our little sister does not love it is admittedly a bit of a bonus lol.  I made him a whole outfit, an Altitude hoody from  Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop  and wide leg pants from  Ellie & Mac . I don't think he will ever own store bought pants again. These fit him so much better! As my dad says the struggle is real, he's a size 5t waist and 12 length!  Anyway back to this awesome fabric lol. The colors are so rich and bright, and the graphic is so detailed. There are a lot of options this round but this is a really fun one I think. There is also the same panel but with words saying my dino ate your unicorn! Kaylee is not a fan lol  I love how happy he is to get things I make for him. He is always so excited to tell everyone I made him what he's wearing.

Elephant House makes me Merry....

I was really excited to get picked for this panel!  It is the perfect blend of angst and adorable! Did you see that elephant?! So cute! This was a design of my own making in a way, I had a vision and mashed a couple patterns together and then completely created the sleeve detail on my own. I am really looking forward to wearing this come the holidays!  I think this might have been the most fun photoshoot because it was mid summer and we were outside in the front of our house with Christmas decorations and running down to use the neighbors trees that line the property for privacy... I can't wait to see what the coming year brings to this amazing company.

Elephant House Fabrics - How I love thee....

Shall we count the ways?  Honestly, if you have not checked out this custom fabric group you are missing out! They are the perfect blend of beautiful general designs, and nerdy fabrics for the whole family. I have yet to find a round I didn't see something in I thought was cute, even if it isn't my fandom, the coordinates tend to sway my heart.  I have sewn up the Cotton Lycra, Swim, Bamboo, and Woven, I love them all, and the woven is so soft! It is the best woven I have ever felt.  Elephant House  is the first time I ever tried bamboo lycra and I have loved it sense, it is such a great fabric for warm weather and the drape is incredible!   Sewing for them has been such a great experience, I have learned so much from the team, and have made some friends. It is always such an awesome experience striking for them, I always walk away from a round feeling valued and appreciated as a strike sewist.

ROAR into Dino happiness with Royal Pixie

My brother LOVES dinosaurs. He was so excited to be getting something from this current round over at  Royal Pixie . They have a few dino panels and a couple background options, along with lots of other goodies, but this is what he was most excited about. So excited he had to do some roaring and show me his favorite T-Rex pose. I knew the  Lil' Buckaroo  was what this needed to become for him. He loves the way this shirt fits, and I made him some matching shorts from  Ellie & Mac . I even had enough scraps to make him matching underwear, and if you have been reading these for a while you know he's always so sad when I don't have enough to make him matching underwear.  If you look close you will see I used dino snaps too, because really even for boys the details are so important. Often I think  people over look the details on things for boys because there are so many pretty options for girls, it makes boys stuff less fun to make for ...
