One of the prints I have absolutely fallen in love with is the Ice. I have yet to see it in a color that I didn't think was amazing! My mom and I tested the Mix it up collection from  George + Ginger , so of course we had to take a few photos together, and we used  Fabriculous  Ice, it gave the look a bit more flash and fancy feel.  But not too fancy... 🤣 Now this was all the way fancy! Used the Ice to make my mom this fantastic mash up of patterns ball gown. She got a lot of compliments on the color and design especially, it was an artillery ball and red is their thing.  The thing I love most about the ice design is it looks sparkly with out the headache of sewing sequins and gems or anything on it to give that effect. Travel with me back to December 2018, I shared a scarf I made into  Fabriculous  custom fabrics, I thought it was really cool and wanted to show it off. Out of no where the owner Mandi commented on it and asked if I had a store, and then shared it to her business page and placed an order! Now this might not have been my first order ever, but I mean she could sew this herself! I shared how exciting that was all over to family and friends 🤣 Flash forward a month, I was getting ready for a little family vacation to a resort here on the island, making a bunch of things to take on the trip, cause thats the way I roll. I get a message from Mandi, offering me some strikes if I was interested, and of course I was!  I got them the day I was leaving for a few and made some pegs right away cause I was so excited, not only strikes and so many of them, but sewing themed! The new book club sweater was just released from  Ellie & Mac , I love the personality this shirt has.  I am a big Spiderman fan, I loved that this shirt gave me the ability to have a more subtle nod to one of my favorite fandoms. I have had this spider fabric in my stash for a while now. I got a great deal on it during a clearance event over at  Hushabye Fabric .   So many possibilities for combinations with this one, I am thinking ice blue and snowflakes for winter, or cabe knit looking sweater knit, pastels or florals for spring. What combinations would like you to see?

A few months ago I made this 'ugly sweater' inspired mix it up peplum. I wanted a Luna meets Mrs. Weasley feel to it. When I was making my first pair of Zappa pants it hit me I needed a really cool velvet and lace pair to wear with it!   Again I went with the flared style using lace this time as the insert. I love them so much they are really comfortable and fun!   I think it compliments the top perfectly and adds a bit of flash and flare to even a plain black top. 

My mom and dad were planning to go the the Saint Barbara's ball this year, she had a dress in mind she really wanted, Mich had made one a few months ago that was a bit of an inspiration here. I changed a bit though. The biggest change was my momma needed pockets! I mashed the Star struck, and a little rival from  George & Ginger , along with the mermaid skirt pattern from  Tie Dye Diva . There was a lot of trial and error with this concept and lot of trying it on in stages inside out and chalk SO MUCH CHALK.  The end result though was not only totally the wow factor we both wanted but also the most comfortable ball gown in history lol.   Have you ever done squats in a ball gown and heels, cause this was tested and it works! The best part was totally how much my mom loved it and both my mom and dad told EVERYONE that I made her dress and thats a pretty good feeling! 

When this pattern first came out I knew I wanted it, I wasn't sure which style or what fabric but they looked so cool!  Truth be told my mom ordered this fabric to make pants for herself... I sew faster though 🤷 This is stretch corduroy, in olive. It is so soft and these pants are so amazing. The fit is great, they are comfortable, lots of compliments and I MADE THEM!  The Zappa pants are pattern of the month over at  G+G  and only $6.75 until January! There are a couple different looks to this pattern, these are the flares.   I may have made a second pair to go with a holiday top I made! I will let you check those out later this week. I really love these pants, now I just need the temperature here to finally drop low enough to wear pants instead of shorts!

When I saw this design from Fabriculous  I knew I had to get it for my brother! He loves it so much, and the fact that our little sister does not love it is admittedly a bit of a bonus lol.  I made him a whole outfit, an Altitude hoody from  Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop  and wide leg pants from  Ellie & Mac . I don't think he will ever own store bought pants again. These fit him so much better! As my dad says the struggle is real, he's a size 5t waist and 12 length!  Anyway back to this awesome fabric lol. The colors are so rich and bright, and the graphic is so detailed. There are a lot of options this round but this is a really fun one I think. There is also the same panel but with words saying my dino ate your unicorn! Kaylee is not a fan lol  I love how happy he is to get things I make for him. He is always so excited to tell everyone I made him what he's wearing. 

I think I have mentioned before that I LOVE testing George + Ginger patterns with Kristi because she really wants her patterns and collections to be special, perfect and her vision. This Campfire set is part of  the 2019 Fall Collection . You can also get this pattern by its self, the collection in clouds this amazing set, (Full romper, capri, and stand alone pants, along with a jumper) The October dress, which comes in 3 lengths, and a beautiful extra top, and it is so EXTRA! I am gonna add the line drawings, there are so many options and looks that can be created with this collection. I am so excited about it.   What I mad and am showing you here is the full pant romper, with the optional tie back, I did make a jumper too that I will show in a bit more detail tomorrow.  This fabric is from  Blended Thread Fabrics , they are based out of Canada, but totally worth the extra cost.
