Reading is really my thing, next to sewing of course :)

This panel is just perfect for me while sewing is a passion, reading is my a favorite hobby. It is the greatest gift, you can escape into a different world and time.  Dr. Seuss was my first books, green eggs and ham is my favorite one, do you have a favorite of his? I used to read mine to by little brother when he was a baby.  This great Dr. Seuss is up for preorder over at  Fabriculous  starting today, but for a limited time!  I decided to show off my cool panel and some of the coordinate with the  George + Ginger Starc . It is a fun sew, a bit casual and a bit grown up at the same time.  The detail on the pattern for this top, and the details on this fabric compliment each other really well don't you think? 

My first Batty Cardigan, made as a tribute to my Great Grandmother

My Great Grandmother recently passed, I was very close with my Great Grandparents. After my parents got divorced, they used to watch me a lot when I would go back to see my dad. For the longest time I called them the egg salad people because everyday for lunch when I was with them thats what we always had, and they would sneak me cookies and treats. I have a lot of great memories with both her and my Great Grandfather.  We were shopping the other day and I saw this blanket in Walmart and it made me think of her, the colors and design, it just screamed GGJ, (Great Grandma Jochims). A lot of her cardigans were bold and had kitties and other animals on them so while this is on the tamer side of something she would wear it blended our styles. My GGJ loved cardigans, she was always layering and they were typically a bit oversized.
