My first Batty Cardigan, made as a tribute to my Great Grandmother

My Great Grandmother recently passed, I was very close with my Great Grandparents. After my parents got divorced, they used to watch me a lot when I would go back to see my dad. For the longest time I called them the egg salad people because everyday for lunch when I was with them thats what we always had, and they would sneak me cookies and treats. I have a lot of great memories with both her and my Great Grandfather.

We were shopping the other day and I saw this blanket in Walmart and it made me think of her, the colors and design, it just screamed GGJ, (Great Grandma Jochims). A lot of her cardigans were bold and had kitties and other animals on them so while this is on the tamer side of something she would wear it blended our styles.

My GGJ loved cardigans, she was always layering and they were typically a bit oversized. So when I got home with this blanket I decided I wanted to make myself a cardigan, something I could wear and have that would remind me of her.

I watched Kristi from George + Gingers youtube video on making the Batty tunic into a cardigan.  Now Kristi doesn't go into how to make in reversible, but the blanket had two sides... so I decided to hack the tutorial a little bit and make the most amazing, cuddly, reversible cardigan that would be this special piece for me.

She was an eccentric women and a fantastic storyteller and believed in things beyond what we can see. One of my favorite stories was when I was younger and helping her clean the dishes and she told me that if I cleaned all the dishes really good all the dishes in the world would be clean someday.

I miss you more than I can say, I love you so much, always with me.

Lily Rose - Toy Story Guest Call

I am so excited that I was picked to guest seamstress for  Lily Rose Custom Fabrics . I was sent 2 panels and coordinate in her lush DBP (double brush poly, think those leggings that are butter soft, only better 😏) I made my younger siblings some cute things! This is a pattern a bit of my own making, little of this little of that and a cool muscle tank for my little brother, he loved showing it off!  How cute is he?!  Not to be out done in the drama department Kaylee brought the sass in spades. This is the glitter coordinate from this round. I made her a  Citron Twist  from  Candy Castle Pattern Company .  This is the  Banana Pudding  also from Candy Castle Patterns, they are one of my favorites and she loves this top!  I paired it up with these  Jupiter Joggers  I tested a few weeks ago now, cause she loves this style so much. The pocket is perfect for a panel accent to complete the ...

This is the inside of the bomb beauty bag, it is fully lined and has a zipper pocket. The circular bag below is the Cat Olive Bag. It has a slip pocket on the back and is fully lined. The bag above (and below) is the Turtle Hammock Bag, it has a handle for  easy carrying and a zipper closure, and is fully lined.
