Hawaiian Princess Tulip Shorts

The Tess Tulip shorts from  Bella Sunshine  are my sisters favorites, She loves the fit of them.  They are really comfortable and have personality to them, this pair I added some trim to to compliment the fabric. The petal in the front even with out the trim though is such a fun and cute addition from basic shorts. I feel like they look a step up with it.  This fabric is from  Lilyrose . I love the colors and this background makes me smile overtime I see it, it has an authentic feel like from the movie.

Hawaiian Princess Banana Pudding

I thought this print would be perfect for my little Hawaii loving Princess sister. This movie has such a special place for us having lived here now, just a different perspective to nature, the islands and the people.  I wanted something that would show off the print really well, and be perfect for the weather here, even in January its warm and sunny most days.  Kaylee is a huge fan of the  Banana Pudding  from candy castle, so I knew it was what this panel needed to be from  Lilyrose Fabrics .

Let me tell you a Fabriculous story...

Travel with me back to December 2018, I shared a scarf I made into  Fabriculous  custom fabrics, I thought it was really cool and wanted to show it off. Out of no where the owner Mandi commented on it and asked if I had a store, and then shared it to her business page and placed an order! Now this might not have been my first order ever, but I mean she could sew this herself! I shared how exciting that was all over to family and friends 🤣 Flash forward a month, I was getting ready for a little family vacation to a resort here on the island, making a bunch of things to take on the trip, cause thats the way I roll. I get a message from Mandi, offering me some strikes if I was interested, and of course I was!  I got them the day I was leaving for a few and made some pegs right away cause I was so excited, not only strikes and so many of them, but sewing themed! Talk about a dream offer.   I wanted to wow Mandi, because this was a HUGE op...

"No one can sing who has smog in his throat." - Dr. Seuss, The Lorax

'...and I want to sing!" - Kaylee The Lorax is my sisters favorite, it speaks to her on a deep level. She is forever saying that the plants,  ocean, and animals are her babies. She takes it very seriously and find no humor in the idea of someone harming any of them. Our dad isn't even allowed to skip rocks unless she asks them first 🙂 I embroidered the Lorax and some Truffula trees on the front of her top, she was so excited to see them.  I took the pink color way for this current round over at  Fabriculous custom Fabric  and paired it with her pink faux denim. They compliment each other so well! I used them to make this raglan from  Patterns for Pirates I made her some matching socks with the scraps from my fat half, the new no shows from  The Wolf & the Tree , I made her the regular, she likes them more slipper style, the joys of island living wearing normal socks feels weird.   These are some ...

Saint Barbara's Day Ball Gown!

My mom and dad were planning to go the the Saint Barbara's ball this year, she had a dress in mind she really wanted, Mich had made one a few months ago that was a bit of an inspiration here. I changed a bit though. The biggest change was my momma needed pockets! I mashed the Star struck, and a little rival from  George & Ginger , along with the mermaid skirt pattern from  Tie Dye Diva . There was a lot of trial and error with this concept and lot of trying it on in stages inside out and chalk SO MUCH CHALK.  The end result though was not only totally the wow factor we both wanted but also the most comfortable ball gown in history lol.   Have you ever done squats in a ball gown and heels, cause this was tested and it works! The best part was totally how much my mom loved it and both my mom and dad told EVERYONE that I made her dress and thats a pretty good feeling!

Tiegan Cardigan has launched!

This new cardigan has some really fun options, and comes in a kids and adult version so bring on all the matching sets!  Below is a line drawing of the different style options for the Tiegan Cardigan by  The Simple Life Company . All of these options are available in the girls and women versions.  I made two, both sleeveless options because, Hawaii, but the duster and cardigan length. The sister is about mid calf and the cardigan was about mid thigh on me.  I think I will make the little girls version for Kaylee next, with the ruffle option cause she's fancy lol.  This was a super fun make, really easy to sew and I had this amazing fabric in my stash from  The Fab Clique . A lot of my stash is from them lol I really am #FABsessed. They ship so fast and the quality and selection is always on point and trend.

Tropical fall leaves, Samantha and #FABsessed

This is the Samantha top I tested a few weeks ago. I just realized I only shared my pink one, and this ones needs some love as well.  I got this gorgeous fabric from  The Fab Clique . Everything about it screamed home to me, well current home that is Hawaii. It has a great tropical flavor while still having a fall feel. A rare combo for sure. Made me really happy when I saw it. This is a rib knit has great drape, with a silky soft hand, and I think was just perfect for this top, I made this one to go on my trip to Michigan last month as well.

All you have to do is call my name.... #FABsessed

Today I turn 14! When I was a baby my mom used to sing Carole Kings 'Where You Lead' to me, to get me to sleep, or just calm down. For a long time I didn't know it came from the show Gilmore Girls, as I have gotten older, that show and aspects from it have become kinda our thing.  I knew I needed something special for my birthday, I decided to go with something I think both Carole King,  Lorelai Gilmore, and my mom would wear. I saw this amazing camo burn out fabric from  The Fab Clique  and knew it needed to become a Janis from  George & Ginger .  I love the details on the sleeve of this top, and that its functional, you can adjust how long you want the sleeves to be with the ties. Also with the burn out fabric, it offers this great look, the ability to have the sleeves, but not to much added warmth, cause its already 95 here today I do not need added warmth!  The colors are rich, and quality is on point, so oft...
