90's vibe pencil skirt!

I had a little bit of this black skull fabric from Fabriculous  left so I made what I think is the most epic pencil skirt!  A little bit of color blocking and some faux leather and boom statement piece for my goth/grunge collection I am working on.           I am not sure how good I am at the moody part of teen angst, but I am nailing the fashion part lol. I am working on make up and music, so what is your favorite 90's grunge rock band or song? I have been working on a play list. 😁

Feeling my 90's vibes here

I am so excited to share so many different things with you all over the next month or so. I am going to be testing some of the most epic patterns and the strikes I just finished up for  Fabriculous  all have the most amazing Grunge/goth 90's feel to them and I am loving it all!   This is the crop version of the  Extra Top  from George + Ginger with 3/4 sleeves. I paired it with a basic black circle skirt that I shorted from a halloween costume I made a year or so ago, with some plaid mesh tights and boots.  I am loving the look of this whole outfit so much. This round and the styling and patterns I choose and the patterns I will be testing, it all just works so well together and has kinda of a moody, teen angst that well, is me.

Let me tell you a Fabriculous story...

Travel with me back to December 2018, I shared a scarf I made into  Fabriculous  custom fabrics, I thought it was really cool and wanted to show it off. Out of no where the owner Mandi commented on it and asked if I had a store, and then shared it to her business page and placed an order! Now this might not have been my first order ever, but I mean she could sew this herself! I shared how exciting that was all over to family and friends 🤣 Flash forward a month, I was getting ready for a little family vacation to a resort here on the island, making a bunch of things to take on the trip, cause thats the way I roll. I get a message from Mandi, offering me some strikes if I was interested, and of course I was!  I got them the day I was leaving for a few and made some pegs right away cause I was so excited, not only strikes and so many of them, but sewing themed! Talk about a dream offer.   I wanted to wow Mandi, because this was a HUGE op...

Cat in the Hat

I love this round over at Fabriculous  so much. Dr. Seuss books are mazing, and I used to read them to my brother when he was a baby. The Cat in the Hat was his favorite. I thought embroidering him on his shirt would be perfect.  I made him the raglan from Patterns for Pirates, just like Kaylee's, it is a great pattern, fast sew and perfect for panels or in this case a solid to embroider.

"No one can sing who has smog in his throat." - Dr. Seuss, The Lorax

'...and I want to sing!" - Kaylee The Lorax is my sisters favorite, it speaks to her on a deep level. She is forever saying that the plants,  ocean, and animals are her babies. She takes it very seriously and find no humor in the idea of someone harming any of them. Our dad isn't even allowed to skip rocks unless she asks them first 🙂 I embroidered the Lorax and some Truffula trees on the front of her top, she was so excited to see them.  I took the pink color way for this current round over at  Fabriculous custom Fabric  and paired it with her pink faux denim. They compliment each other so well! I used them to make this raglan from  Patterns for Pirates I made her some matching socks with the scraps from my fat half, the new no shows from  The Wolf & the Tree , I made her the regular, she likes them more slipper style, the joys of island living wearing normal socks feels weird.   These are some ...

It is never to early to plan Holiday pj's - October Tea

Every December we do a family activity each night, sometimes its a hot cocoa bar, or watching a holiday movie, sibling gifts, and always a sibling sleepover in front of the Christmas tree. As soon as I saw these adorable penguins I knew they needed to be our pj's for the sleep over.  They are up for preorder over at  October Tea , she has dragons ins a similar style of art as well as hot cocoa, I am personally debating ordering my brother penguins so we are extra match or ordering him some dragons 🤔 My sister is wearing the  Sugar & Spice  pj's, I do modify everything for her a little bit. I am rocking the  FREE Pegs . They honestly are my go to for leggings I did add the cuff at the bottom myself to coordinate with her more 😁 The Shoes are from  Menta Sewing Group , these are the ones listed on my website as well. They have the tough tech bottoms to make them outdoor ready to go not really slippers.  EMAIL ...
