Graduation Gown Turned Dress

Hey y’all! As some of you may know or remember I graduated back in May and I got to keep my gown along with my cap, since I’m homeschooled.  Now the next person in my family to graduate still has a couple years to go, and he will probably need a size or two up to accommodate for height so I turned my gown into a dress!  I got to work a week or so after I graduated and started sketching what I wanted to turn my gown into. Should I do separates? Should I do a dress? What style of dress?  Ultimately I decided upon this amazing dress, now I did have to adjust the skirt because my initial sketch had a long maxi style dress but I simply adore the shorter skirt.  And that back is stunning! The whole dress with the exception of the ribbon for the straps, came from the gown.  Had to take a couple pictures with my cap, so happy I had all my friends sign it!  Now this next picture has a bit of a story behind it:  So the day I took pics of my dress, I took my blac...

Olive Toiletry Bags

I wanted to take a second to highlight The Olive Toiletry Bag, as you can see it fits all the essentials!  The Olive has one main zippered compartment and a slip pocket on the back. It also comes in two sizes, Small and Large. The only Small Olive I have in stock, ready to ship is the Military Child Olive you saw at the top of the blog.  The Bob Ross Olive is my sisters favorite since she is a huge Bob fan. Stellar Dress

One of my favorite pattern designers and a dear friend, Kristi from  George + Ginger  asked if I’d help make this dress come to life so I happily obliged.  I will be honest, I was a little worried how much I’d love this dress but I fell in love!  It has shorts built into the dress- and useable pockets too, not the barely there ones and the length of the shorts is perfect!  Can we take a moment to appreciate the back of this dress too? The intricate strap detail adds a bit of interest to the dress and still has plenty of support in all the right places.   I, of course, had to add some Alyssa flair to the pictures. I used the paranoid flannel pattern from Kristi to create this look.  You can find the pattern at the  George + Ginger Website . You can also find me on my  Facebook Page ,  Instagram ,  Pinterest  and you can shop all premade- ready to ship clothing and accessories in my group-  FD CLOTHING AND SALES . See y...

Tiegan Cardigan has launched!

This new cardigan has some really fun options, and comes in a kids and adult version so bring on all the matching sets!  Below is a line drawing of the different style options for the Tiegan Cardigan by  The Simple Life Company . All of these options are available in the girls and women versions.  I made two, both sleeveless options because, Hawaii, but the duster and cardigan length. The sister is about mid calf and the cardigan was about mid thigh on me.  I think I will make the little girls version for Kaylee next, with the ruffle option cause she's fancy lol.  This was a super fun make, really easy to sew and I had this amazing fabric in my stash from  The Fab Clique . A lot of my stash is from them lol I really am #FABsessed. They ship so fast and the quality and selection is always on point and trend.

Sewing is my Super Power

This preorder over at  The Fabric Geeks   is incredible.  I wanted to do something fun and a little different with this panel. I love what it says, sewing really does feel like a super power sometimes. I had a lot of fun making this one and it really fits my personal style.  I started with the new  Hepburn  from Patterns for Pirates, went sleeveless, figured out about where I wanted this to end on me and sewed it all up, then added the slits and and crossed them over. I know this might not be everyones test but its a really fun crop style top for me.  They have a lot of other great designs going on this round as well. If you are interested in me sewing you something up with these fabrics please message me by September 5th so I have time to place my order.  EMAIL       WEBSITE        FACEBOOK       INSTAGRAM

Making some S'mores ~ Momsters Fabric

When I saw this s'mores fabric was coming I was so excited! One of the things I have really missed having braces is s'mores! My siblings have asked for them several times but my parents remind them that I love them too and not being able to eat them leaves me out of the fun. So when I saw this fabric I knew I needed it for them and for them to do s'mores pictures!  I made my sister a modified crop top from  Ellie & Mac  with these cute coordinating shorts from  Bella Sunshine . I loved how they complimented the fabric form  Momsters .  I made my brother his favorite tank style from  Peek-a-boo . There are so many options for it, but this is just a straight plain tank, no hood or pockets.  They had so much fun making s'mores like on their outfits and of course eating them, cause honestly that is the best part right?  There are several other cute design up for grabs in this round over at  Momsters , she h...

Sister Bonding #FABsessed

It is a rare occasion when my sister and I get to match and in something I am excited to wear lol. I think these outfits and this photoshoot was both of our favorites.  I had a certain look in mind and let me tell you it is hard to find an existing pattern for petal pushers, so I had so hack and mash things to make both us us denim petal pushers. This fabric is all from  The Fab Clique  the denim was a dream to work with! I was a little nervous, I have never made pants with no real stretch before, but they turned out amazing!  I really wanted a dolman style crop for both of us, I did make my sisters a little longer so she can wear it longer. I did heres 2 sided as well so she can choose which side to wear on the front. This is the grey and white skulls and hearts also from the  The Fab Clique . I want to describe this cotton lycra but I am not sure how to adequately explain how soft it is. You have to try it! and maybe you will become #FABs...
