Starbucks Coffee & Handbags!

I mentioned the other day I had not until recently had Starbucks, however for some of these designs you don't need to.  These coffee beans are amazing, you can almost smell them on the fabric they are so realistic, perfect for the coffee lover, in the fab fluff (super soft fabric) a scarf! I just now added that to my list to order.  While this is meant as an accent fabric, its great as a stand alone design as well.  The  Clutch  and  Heidi  seen here are up for sale on my website. The hand bags were claimed by my mother and myself. My mom was so excited about the I don't give a sip graphic. You can also custom order the bags on my website if you would like a different design there are lots of graphics you can see them here , but order quickly because this is a preorder and not around much longer.   Below is the one I made for myself. The panel is also the graphic I made on a shirt for my mom. There are so many great designs t...

Candy Castle - Soda Pop Polos & Cappuccino Cardigans

I can not tell you how hard it was to only pick a few polos and cardigans I have made to share with you today. This monkey one was my very first, and then I made my brother a closet full lol  Soda Pop Polo  has a lot of great options too including a ruffle, regular, henley collars a long with hood option, short and long sleeve as well.   I was pretty nervous making the placket the first time, and if I am honest the next couple too. This is by far the best placket instructions I have come across, the few times I have tried out other patterns that have them I always end up back here at the Soda Pop. I live in Hawaii currently so I do not often make a lot of fall clothing, however this cardigan has become a staple here. These above option was made out of bamboo lycra which is the most amazing fabric, it almost always feels cool but yet offers some warmth at the same time. One of my favorite things about this pattern is all the ways it can be w...

Just a coffee girl with sewing dreams...

How about that title for this blog? On point right?! I want to take credit but I have to confess I walked out to show off my new cold shoulder and Kaylee took one look at me and said, 'just a coffee girl with sewing dreams', I might have written it down I loved it so much! It is the perfect intro to this post!  This amazing coffee round is happening over at  Fabriculous . I would say Mandi out did herself but I fear she might take that as a challenge and that would make ordering even harder with all the choices we already have! There are 3 main color ways, so many panel options and coordinate that are breath taking!  I used a panel and 2 different coordinates to make this  cold shoulder  from Ellie & Mac.  This is my favorite print from this round. It makes my heart happy to wear it. I do feel like I should confess one other detail though, before this round I never had Starbucks before 🙈 I went out and got a Frappuccino. I wa...

Sewing is my Super Power

This preorder over at  The Fabric Geeks   is incredible.  I wanted to do something fun and a little different with this panel. I love what it says, sewing really does feel like a super power sometimes. I had a lot of fun making this one and it really fits my personal style.  I started with the new  Hepburn  from Patterns for Pirates, went sleeveless, figured out about where I wanted this to end on me and sewed it all up, then added the slits and and crossed them over. I know this might not be everyones test but its a really fun crop style top for me.  They have a lot of other great designs going on this round as well. If you are interested in me sewing you something up with these fabrics please message me by September 5th so I have time to place my order.  EMAIL       WEBSITE        FACEBOOK       INSTAGRAM

My love affair with Candy Castle

I have been thinking about what really set me on this path with confidence and conviction; The Peppermint Swirl . My mom saw this dress and really wanted it for my sister, the pattern was purchased in January and there it sat until march with me avoiding it. I admit I was intimidated. It looked so complicated!  The above picture is the one she finally talked me into making, if you are not familiar with this dress you will not realize I completely screwed it up, it is supposed to have a swirl not ruffle look. Using my moms Facebook at the time I nervously posted in in Candy Castles group, the response was not what I expected.  People LOVED it, they wanted to know how I did it... What?! This mistake started a crazy trend for a hot minute. Something else happened too though, while I had cut it wrong, I made it! I made a really cool dress that Kaylee loved and total strangers were trying to copy! ME! Alyssa Cotter at 12 did that!   I kept...

Romping in my new Ellie & Mac Romper!

I know rompers are not everyones favorite, my mom hates them 🤣 however, I LOVE them! It's a complete outfit! You literally grab one thing and your outfit is planned, I how can you not love this?! The newest romper from  Ellie & Mac  is on point trendy.  It features optional slant side pockets, three sleeve lengths, and shorts, capri, full-length, and tall pants options!  The perfect romper for all seasons!  This pattern comes in sizes XXS - 5XL! The version I made for my self in the short sleeve, elastic waist with shorts, because Hawaii 🤷   I chose this fabric, cause one it makes my eyes pop, and its a bit fancy and pretty. I LOVE  Fabriculous Fabrics  ice, she has it in so many colors, I think its just so sparkly and gorgeous.  If you are interested in having a custom off the shoulder romper made for you, shoot me a message and I can make your romper dreams come true lol.  EMAIL ...

Ready to be Merry AF?! I am

Have I said before 'this is my favorite make!'? Probably a few times, I think because I keep learning new things and getting more comfortable with my skills to step outside of the pattern my favorites keep changing lol  This is one of my recent makes, and you guessed it, its my new favorite! I got this super soft french terry fabric from  Elephant House . I was so excited when I saw they were running this because I feel like this is so relatable lol. Lets be honest, holidays are fun, and stressful, and as a teen I spend half of it being told to smile. This is the perfect holiday shirt! I might wear it year round 😉 I did start with a pattern from  Ellie & Mac  then I took the sleeve and tossed it out and did my own thing. I wanted something a little different and eye catching, you know to distract grandparents from the front of my shirt 🤷 I had a lot of fun doing these pictures, let me set the scene for you. Its a HOT August day in ...
