Not everyone understands what being a Military kid is like. It is amazing and sad at the same time. I have lived in several states, been on more flights than I can count and gotten to see places people dream of vacationing. I have also had to say good bye to so many people, but the adventure never ends. All of this is why the round that Mandi over at Fabriculous made a reality is so important to me. I came to her with an idea for a small off shoot, a panel and something to go with it and she made it into a 3 color way, 2 panel option, blanket topper, mind blowing round! It is something featured on her business page, something I am seeing people rallying around and finding as beautiful as I do. Its truly a humbling and incredible feeling. The So Sweet Sweater by candy castle with out the sleeves added on is one of my favorite tops for my sister. Its not exactly short sleeves, but its its perfect for Hawaii winter when its not really cold cold, but breezy. She loves the cowl, hiding part of her face, more than hoods even I think. The fabric from Fabriculous was perfect for it. I love that even though this is a coordinate it can really stand alone as the focal point as well, I think this pattern demonstrates that really well, with out being a basic boring tee. There is a contest going on with the USO for the unit our dad is deployed with. It asked you an answer a question 'what is is like having a deployed parent' and my little sister Kaylee answered in the form of a painting. You were able to choose what ever medium you wanted. Her painting in her words; I'm really sad when dads gone so these are things I do when I'm sad, I paint, the middle shows me outside playing, the top right is me cuddling with stuffed animals, the bottom right is me face timing with my dad, the bottom left is me dancing, and the tops right is thinking about when we will be together again all how happy we will be. She worked really hard on her idea and sketched it out first and thought about all the things she does that make her feel better while he's gone.
