From the beginning, Elephant House Fabrics

I saw a call for a strike off sewist on Elephant House Fabrics, so I applied, I was a little nervous because it was the first time applying for something like this, and THEY PICKED ME!

I have no words for how excited I was! I really wanted to blow them away with what I could do. I was 12, almost 13, I felt like this was a huge opportunity to show case my growing skill set. I wanted them to be glad they picked me.

I am not sure if you know this but they say Harry Potter was born at the Elephant House Cafe. It is a place where JK Rowling wrote much of the first books, it seems fitting to me as a Potterhead that the birth place of my strike off career was born with Elephant House Fabrics.

I threw myself into ideas and I think came up with some cool ideas and let me tell you I used every single tiny scrap of this fabric lol. Looking back on what I made for them, still some of my most favorite pieces. These items and Elephant House will always hold a special place in my heart.

Was my first doll, during my first sets of shoes, and my first sports bra lol! Did I mention I wanted to impress them? I feel like I did a little over a year later and I still get to sew for them now and again. They are still a go to when shopping for fabrics.

Over the month I am going to travel back down memory lane with Elephant house and revisit some of the great fabrics and makes with them. This is just the first round and seemed the best place to start. Thank you so much Sami and Amanda for taking a chance on me and helping me shine.

The Lisa Frank Bag Collection is officially live!!  I am gonna walk you through each of these bag designs.  The first bag is the Unicorn Bomb Beauty Bag. This bag has a zipper closure and a flap with two lock closures. The flap has a clear zipper pocket and a elastic brush roll, and then on the bag there is a clear slip pocket as well. This is the inside of the bomb beauty bag, it is fully lined and has a zipper pocket. The circular bag below is the Cat Olive Bag. It has a slip pocket on the back and is fully lined. The bag above (and below) is the Turtle Hammock Bag, it has a handle for  easy carrying and a zipper closure, and is fully lined. These next two bags are probably my favorite- they are Convertible Bags,  they can be crossbody style or backpacks.  This is the Bear Convertible Bag. Both bags have a adjustable strap, a zipper closure,  fully lined with a slip pocket and two card slots. This is the Turtle Convertible Bag. Pictured below is the linin...
